District Town Planner (DTP) Vikram Kumar said, “Following the information regarding the development of an unauthorised colony and a commercial area, notices were served on the landowners and property dealers, but they failed to obtain permissions. An illegal colony was being developed on a 4.5-acre land, while a commercial area was being developed on 2 acres. Following the directions received from the Deputy Commissioner, a duty magistrate was appointed and the demolition drives were carried out.”
