Six of marriage party killed in Hisar mishap

Six persons were killed when their car rammed into a stationary truck near Rakhigarhi village on the Narnaund-Uchana approach road in the district on Monday. The victims were going to Chuli Khurd village in the district’s Adampur block after attending a marriage function in Milakpur village near Narnaund.
As per information, the truck was parked on the road with a flat tyre when the Maruti Ecco carrying 12 persons rammed into it. Six of the car’s occupants died on the spot while an equal number suffered serious injuries.
The police identified the victims as taxi driver Dinesh (34) of Milakpur village and five others — Sohan Lal (65), Om Prakash (49), Sachin (19), Kuldeep (28) and Bhupender (33) — all residents of Shilwala village in Rajasthan’s Hanumangarh district. They were relatives of the groom and had come to Milakpur village with the baraat on Sunday night. After staying overnight, they hired Dinesh’s taxi and started the journey back to Chuli Khurd when the mishap occurred. The injured have been identified as Rohtas, Shrawan Kumar, Kuldeep, Jatin, Abhishek and Vikram, all residents of Rajasthan.
DSP Joginder Rathi said that the police have registered a case of causing death due to negligence against the truck driver, who absconded after the mishap.
2 sisters die in Sonepat
Two sisters — Muskaan (25) and Sheenu (27) from Babarpur village in Oraiya district of UP staying with their uncle at Pio Maniari in Sonepat district — were killed when they were hit by a speeding car at the bus stop on Pio Maniari-Narela road on Sunday evening. The driver escaped leaving his car behind. The vehicle has been seized by the police. — TNS
