Rohtak, January 16

Here is some good news for the workers skilled in masonry, carpentry, tiling and barbending who are prepared to leave their country and work abroad to earn well.

The Haryana Government is sending such skilled workers to Israel, where they will get a salary of about Rs 1.25 lakh per month. The workers selected for the jobs will also get visa on arrival and certain other facilities in Israel. No educational qualification is required for the said jobs, which are being arranged for the skilled workers by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) in collaboration with the Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam (HKRN).To take the initiative further, a team of technical experts/officials from the Population, Immigration and Border Authority (PIBA), Israel, arrived on the campus of Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU) here today to test the skills of the applicants for the said jobs.

“The Israel Government wants to take 10,000 skilled workers from India. Haryana was the first state to evince an interest in the offer and hence the recruitment drive has been launched here,” an Indian official accompanying the Israeli team said. The drive got a good response, with more than 500 youths thronging the university campus to get their skills tested for the jobs in Israel on the first day of the six-day drive.

“We have facilitated the skill-testing of the workers aspiring to go to Israel. Nearly 3,000 youths will be called during the six-day-long drive which began today,” said Prof Yudhvir Singh, Director, UIET at the MDU.
