Following incessant heavy rain, the Som river in Yamunanagar is in full spate on Sunday.

The water of Som river was seen flowing over the bridge at Dhanaura village, causing panic among residents. People living in the villages along the river are living in the fear of flood fury as any major breach in the embankment will cause flood-like situation and damage crops.

Officials from the district administration and irrigation department have been keeping a watch on the situation. Residence have been advised to stay away from the river.

Adding to the concern, the Pathrala river is also swelling due to heavy flow of water.
