'Songs of Vitasta I Sing' launched

Kashinath Pandit, a former Director of the Centre for Central Asian Studies, University of Kashmir, and a Padma Shri awardee, launched the book. Prof Raghuvendra Tanwar and Prof Dr Moti Lal Madan, Padma Shri awardees; Dr Ashima Gakhar, Principal, Dyal Singh College; Sushma Devgun, principal, Dyal Singh Public School; Prof Richa Tanwar, Kurukshetra University; and retired professors Dr Ashok Bhatia, Dr P Sen Gupta and Dr Neena Arora were among those present during the book launch.
Sushma Devgun and Pooja Madhok welcomed the guests. Devgun read a message by Vice-Admiral Satish Soni (retd), PVSM, AVSM, NM, Honorary Secretary, Dyal Singh College Trust Society, and congratulated Dr Chandra Kanta. Dr Kanta shared her creative journey and the inspiration behind her works.
She recited some of her favourite poems from the anthology. The chief guest praised the poems for capturing the deep rhythms of life while bringing together the beauty of everyday moments.
Prof Tanwar commended the efforts of the author and elaborated on the history of Kashmir. He said the poems reflected the pain of Kashmiri migrants, which he said was an inseparable part of an unforgettable history.
Dr Madan highlighted the deep connection of these poems to Kashmir, and their profound ability to inspire peace and serenity.
