Sonika, Akshay winners in 21-km half marathon

Public Health and Engineering Minister Dr Banwari Lal awarded the winners in the 21 km and 10 km marathons at Rao Tularam Stadium here.

The first, second, third, fourth and fifth position holders of the 21-km run were given cheques for Rs 1.21 lakh, Rs 1 lakh, Rs 75,000, Rs 51,000 and Rs 11,000, respectively, while the first five position holders of 10-km run were awarded cheques for Rs1 lakh, Rs 75,000, Rs 51,000, Rs 21,000 and Rs 11,000, respectively.

In the women’s category of 21-km half marathon, Sonika, Ujala, Ankita, Nisha and Bhagirathi and in the men’s category, Akshay Kumar, Mohammad Noor Hasan, Rohit Verma, Tanuj Thakur and Gyan Babu secured the first, second, third, fourth and fifth positions, respectively.

In the women’s category of 10-km run: Garima Yadav, Neeta Rani, Monika, Ankita, Pooja and in the men’s category, Danish Saifi, Rohit, Paramjeet Singh, Ashwini and Vansh secured the first, second, third, fourth and fifth positions, respectively. — TNS
