He directed that paddy procurement be carried out on time and lifting work in the mandis expedited.
Kalyan, who visited the Gharaunda grain market to review procurement arrangements, warned that any negligence by officials or employees would invite strict action.
Before inspecting the mandi, Kalyan chaired a meeting at the Market Committee office where he listened to the grievances of farmers, arhtiyas and traders. He instructed officials to streamline procurement operations, saying that the paddy season has entered its peak and arrivals in the mandis are rising rapidly. He stressed that technical issues such as portal verification and gate pass generation must not hinder farmers and directed that these problems be resolved without delay.
Accepting the farmers’ demand, the Speaker ordered an increase in the number of rice millers in mandis to ensure timely procurement and lifting. He said as the paddy season lasts only 15 to 20 days, additional staff should be deployed in mandis to prevent farmers, traders and commission agents from making repeated visits to offices.
