Sports equipment distributed in 111 villages of Ladwa Assembly segment

Haryana State Council for Child Welfare vice-president Suman Saini on Monday said national and international-level players were being produced in Haryana, and there was no dearth of talent in the state.

She was speaking at a ceremony organised by the Sports Department for the distribution of sports equipment for 111 villages of the Ladwa Assembly constituency at Dronacharya Stadium in Kurukshetra.

Suman Saini said the state government was providing all facilities to the players to improve their skills further. Due to this, today the players of Haryana had won a lot of medals at international level games and Haryana was known in the world for sports.

She congratulated the 111 Sarpanches and representatives of the Ladwa Assembly constituency, who were present to receive the sports equipment, and said that Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini’s vision was that the youth of Ladwa constituency should stay away from evils like drug addiction and move towards sports.

She said recently, the Chief Minister inaugurated a sports stadium of Dhanaura Jatan village, built at a cost of Rs 2.73 crore. High-level sports facilities will be made available to the players in the sports stadium. The government was making efforts to strengthen the sports infrastructure at the village level and bring sports talents of rural areas to the fore.

Suman Saini further said sports was an integral part of life and it should not be considered only a means of entertainment. It was only through sports that a sense of discipline was created in human life. The youngsters would remain healthy only when they joined sports. The Chief Minister had provided 11 types of sports equipment as per the demands raised by the gram panchayat of the Ladwa Assembly constituency. All the youth should make good use of the equipment and bring glory to the state and the game.

Ladwa SDM Pankaj Setia said the sports equipment worth Rs 45 lakh were distributed on the occasion. In future also, sports items would be provided as per the demands raised by the gram panchayats. District Sports Officer Manoj Kumar and several other officials were present on the occasion.
