The Fatehabad police have arrested a District Sports and Youth Programme Officer and three others for colluding with applicants to issue fraudulent D-grade certificates. This scam allowed applicants to secure government jobs under the sports quota using these bogus certificates.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Makhan Singh, Mahavir, Rahul and Rajendra Singh Berwal. Following a complaint filed by Inspector Richpal Singh of the CM flying team on April 21, 2023, the police launched an investigation into the matter. The inquiry revealed that in 2019-20, the District Sports Officer issued 122 sports gradation certificates, with 109 classified as Grade C and 13 as Grade D.

Based on these fake certificates, the accused secured jobs in various departments.
