Das said the cheque was on account of interim dividend payout for the 2021-22 fiscal towards equity contribution of the state to Aravali Power Corporation Pvt Ltd, a joint venture of National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC), Indraprastha Power Generation Company (IPGCL) and Haryana.

“The state has infused Rs 716 crore as equity in the project, while dividend amounting to Rs 534.25 crore has been received to date,” he added.

Mohammed Shayin, MD, Haryana Power Generation Corporation Ltd (HPGCL), said an MoU was signed on August 24, 2006, among the NTPC, HPGCL and IPGCL for the development of a 3×500 MW coal-based power plant in the state. He said 2,231 acres were acquired in Jharli, Mohanbari, Gorria and Khanpur Khurd villages.
