State govt to develop Ambala as model city: Former minister
Former Minister of State Aseem Goel on Sunday said the state government was committed to developing Ambala as a model city.
He was addressing a gathering after laying foundation stones and inaugurating projects in Ambala City.
The projects — related to construction of streets, and sheds in gaushalas; water drainage; installation of streetlights; bus shelters; and dharamshala construction — are coming at a cost of Rs 65 crore.
Addressing a gathering, Goel said, “Development works are being carried out at a rapid pace in Ambala City Assembly constituency. Since the Chief Minister belongs to Ambala, the projects are being cleared at double speed. Sincere efforts are being made to ensure the development of Ambala, and the government is committed to developing Ambala City as a model city.”
Praising the CM, Goel said, “The Chief Minister has changed the environment of the state. All these projects were approved during my tenure as Minister of State.”
During his address, the former Ambala City MLA directed officials of the municipal corporation to focus on the quality of the work, and ensure that projects were completed within a stipulated timeframe.
He also appealed to area residents to keep a watch on the construction works and raise complaints if they found any negligence.
Earlier in the day, Goel laid foundation stones of projects and inaugurated development works at Naneola village.
