State-level function at Ratia to mark Shaheed Udham Singh's martyrdom day
Chandigarh, July 28
A state-level function will be organised at Ratia on July 30 to mark the martyrdom day of Shaheed Udham Singh.
Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar will be the chief guest on the occasion. Thousands of people from across the state are expected to attend the event.
Khattar said Shaheed Udham Singh was a brave son of the country, who took revenge for the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. On June 4, 1940, he was convicted of murder and hanged in Pentonville Jail on July 31 that year. He said the country would always remember Udham Singh’s supreme sacrifice for the motherland.
