State to gain Rs 4K cr under new GST regime, says CM

Saini said that these reforms would prove to be a milestone in building ‘Atmanirbhar’ Haryana.
“Haryana’s tax base has expanded and GST collection has risen. Haryana’s net SGST collection increased from Rs 18,910 crore in 2018-19 to Rs 39,743 crore in 2024-25, showing a 110 per cent growth,” said Saini.
The Chief Minister was interacting with entrepreneurs during the GST Bachat Utsav
programme organised by the state Excise and Taxation Department in Gurugram on Sunday.
He said that for decades, people of the country were entangled in a web of multiple taxes. India had dozens of different taxes, causing hardships to citizens and companies alike.
Referring to the major decisions taken by the GST Council, the Chief Minister said that now, there would be only two standard GST rates in the country -- 5 per cent and 18 per cent. Additionally, a special rate of 40 per cent has been kept for harmful goods.
He said that in 2024-25, Haryana ranked fifth among the leading states in the country in gross GST collection.
Haryana Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh said that the GST slab reforms introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi would bring historic changes in the lives of common citizens.
He said that GST reforms would also strengthen the country’s economy and accelerate business activity.
