A delegation from Denmark, along with officials from the Ministry of Jal Shakti, visited the state water testing laboratory of the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) in Karnal. The visitors appreciated the efforts of the department in implementing the water quality management system (WQMS). They acknowledged the state’s technological advancements and commitment to maintaining high standards in water quality monitoring and management.

Amit Singh, chief chemist of the state laboratory, and Abhishek Sher, executive engineer, welcomed the delegation and informed them about the working of the lab.

The delegation included Casper from the Danish Embassy, along with Philip, Helle, Ryle and Ann from Denmark, along with representatives from the Ministry of Jal Shakti, including Ashish Pandey, Deputy Adviser; and Divya Chauhan, Consultant.

From Haryana’s Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Amit Singh (Chief Chemist) was present at the event. He maintained that the delegation visited India under the Green Strategic Partnership between the two countries — a work plan for cooperation between National Jal Jeevan Mission and Danish Environmental Protection Agency (DEPA) in the water sector. “The objective is to enhance cooperation in the specific areas of water supply, water distribution, wastewater treatment, sewerage systems, re-use of treated wastewater, water management and energy optimisation in the water sector,” Singh added.
