During the 30-minute meeting held on Saturday, Gogi, along with senior leaders, including Amethi MP Kishori Lal Sharma, AICC general secretary Ghulam Ahmad Mir, and others from across the country, pressed the need to assign key positions to committed and dedicated workers to effectively counter the BJP and RSS.
“We had a healthy discussion on several issues, especially on strengthening the Congress organisation nationwide. We stressed that only committed persons should be given important roles in the party,” Gogi said after the meeting.
Expressing concern over internal challenges, Gogi said, “The Congress is currently facing threats from ‘traitors’ within the party who are weakening it from inside. Such leaders or workers must be identified and removed to build a stronger organisational structure.”
The leaders also highlighted the need to bolster district-level party bodies across the country, emphasising their role in making the party election-ready. “If we have a strong district body, we can contest elections effectively. People are willing to vote for Congress, but without a strong organisational structure, we are unable to reach them,” Gogi pointed out.
Rahul Gandhi, according to Gogi, assured the leaders that steps are being taken to reinforce the party's foundation. He informed them about an ongoing survey aimed at appointing around 800 district presidents nationwide, ensuring that active and dedicated leaders are given priority in the party’s organisational framework.
