Student ends life, another found dead at Haryana varsity
A 20-year-old student of Ashoka University here reportedly ended his life by jumping from the 10th floor of a hostel last night, while another student was found dead under mysterious circumstances at a tea stall near the main gate of the university.
The student who committed suicide has been identified as Dhruv Jyoti Sahu of Bengaluru. He was BA second-year political science student.
The police received information about the incident around 10 pm. SI Kuldeep Singh, SHO, Rai, along with police and FSL teams, reached the spot.
Dhruv fell on the balcony of the second floor of the hostel. He was rushed to a hospital where doctors declared him dead. The university informed his family about the incident.
A student said on condition of anonymity that Dhruv was mentally upset for a long time and had approached a doctor.
The police said the student left a suicide note in which he stated that no one should be held responsible for his death.
Another student, identified as 19-year-old Vighnesh Guda Sahu of Telangana, was found dead under mysterious circumstances near a tea stall. He was also a second-year undergraduate student.
Vighnesh reportedly left the university past midnight to bring some eatables from a shop outside the gate. He was standing there and suddenly fell on the ground. Some students who were standing nearby called an ambulance and rushed him to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
After getting information about the two incidents, the Rai police reached the spot and sent the bodies of the victims to the Civil Hospital for a post-mortem examination. The university issued a statement expressing grief over the tragic death of the two students and said it was fully cooperating with the police in the investigations.
