The Directorate of School Education (DSE) has directed all District Education Officers (DEOs) across Haryana to retrieve tablets from Class X and XII students within five days of their last board exam. The department has also issued Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) regarding the return process.

The board exams for Class X and XII are currently underway, and students in government schools who were provided with tablets under the Advance Digital Haryana Initiative of Government with Adaptive Modules (e-ADHIGAM) will now have to return them immediately after their exams. The initiative, launched in 2022, aimed to provide digital learning tools to students from Classes IX to XII, with around 5 lakh tablets distributed across the state.

In an official communication to the DEOs, the DSE emphasised that failure to return tablets within the stipulated time could result in students’ exam results being withheld.
“Tablets should be taken back within five days of the last exam, and SIM cards for Class X and XII should be deactivated. However, Class XI students will retain their tablets,” the directive stated.
Further, the Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH) has been instructed to withhold results of students who fail to return their tablets within the deadline. In cases where students are enrolled in government schools affiliated with CBSE, the department will request CBSE to hold back their results until the tablets are deposited at the respective schools.
Devender Sharma, district nodal officer for e-ADHIGAM, confirmed the directive, stating: “The directorate has ordered that tablets must be returned within five days of the last board exam. Across Haryana, around 5 lakh tablets were distributed, with approximately 25,000 allocated to students in Panipat.”
