New Delhi, February 8
Delhi Police woman Sub-Inspector Preeti Ahlawat, 26, was allegedly shot dead by her male colleague, who later committed suicide, a senior official said today. Prima facie it seems to be a love affair gone wrong, he said.
Ahlawat was a 2018 batch Sub-Inspector from Haryana’s Sonepat and was staying in a rented accommodation at Rohini.
Additional Commissioner of Police SD Mishra said: “Both were deployed in north-east Delhi. On Friday, around 1 am the police found the body of the woman SI in Rohini with a bullet injury. After scanning chats on her cellphone, the needle of suspicion turned towards Dipanshu Rathi. Thereafter, we found Dipanshu’s corpse in his car in Haryana’s Sonepat area. The vehicle was locked. The headlights were on.”
He said on Friday night while the woman SI was walking home from a Metro station, Dipanshu shot her dead. — Agencies
