Chandigarh, February 22

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, while speaking during the ongoing Budget session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha, today announced the formation of Tigaon subdivision.

Earlier, in the House, MLA Rajesh Nagar had raised the issue that Tigaon and Greater Faridabad have become large areas in terms of population. Therefore, Tigaon should be made a subdivision. Similarly, other MLAs also demanded to grant ownership rights of residential properties to people living in the urban areas for years.

Promptly fulfilling both the demands, the Chief Minister announced that Tigaon would be upgraded as a subdivision. He said formalities related to this would be completed soon.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
