The Haryana Government has provided relief to farmers by extending the procurement period for sunflower by three more days. Now, procurement will continue till July 3.

A spokesperson from the Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs said due to rainfall in June, the harvesting of sunflower crop was delayed, because of which farmers were not able to bring their produce to mandis to sell it at MSP. Taking the farmers' interest into consideration, the government has made this decision.

The spokesperson said procurement was being carried out by HAFED and the Haryana Warehousing Corporation. During 2025-26, a total of 47,300 metric tonnes (MT) of sunflower have been procured so far, compared to 38,903 MT procured last year.
