What is the Super-100 programme?

The Super-100 programme is an ambitious educational initiative of the Haryana Government, designed to provide free coaching, residential facilities and academic support to meritorious students from government schools, enabling them to prepare for competitive exams such as IIT-JEE and NEET. Originally launched in 2018 by the then Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, the programme aims at giving wings to the dreams of talented students who cannot afford costly private coaching.

What are the benefits of the programme?

Under the programme, selected students receive free coaching for IIT-JEE and NEET, along with residential accommodation, food, uniforms, tablets and books for study purposes. Mock tests are also conducted regularly to prepare the students well. A two-year preparation programme is conducted for Classes XI and XII under the guidance of subject experts.

Who is eligible for the Super-100 programme?

Students who wish to benefit from the Super-100 programme must meet specific eligibility criteria. The scheme is open only to students studying at government schools across Haryana. A Class X student must opt for science stream in Class XI, so that he/she can apply for the programme. It is also open to both boys and girls, ensuring equal opportunities for all meritorious candidates.

How is the selection process carried out?

The selection process follows a two-tier system. First, eligible students appear for a level-I entrance test conducted by the Haryana Government. Based on their performance, shortlisted students are invited to appear for a level-II test. Those who qualify are then called for counselling and admission, which takes place at the Super-100 Campus in Barna, Kurukshetra. The coaching is provided by the Vikalp Foundation Trust at the centre. Initially, the programme had only 100 seats, later it has been expanded to 400 seats. Previously, the training was conducted at four centres — Karnal, Hisar, Rewari, and Panchkula — but now it is being conducted at only one centre in Kurukshetra.

What is the duration of the training?

The coaching programme is for two academic years — Class XI and XII, aligning with the students’ preparation for JEE Mains, IIT and NEET.

How can the students apply for the scheme?

The students interested in applying for the Super-100 programme can do so through a simple online process. Applications open every January, giving eligible candidates an opportunity to register for the entrance test. To apply, the students must visit the official website at https://www.haryanasuper100.com. In addition, the Haryana Government has launched the Buniyaad programme for Class IX and X students who are preparing for competitive exams. Buniyaad is an extended version of the Super-100 programme, offering free coaching at 103 government centres across the state.

What has been the outcome of the programme so far?

The Super-100 programme has delivered impressive results since its inception, proving to be a transformative opportunity for the students from Haryana’s government schools. Several students have already cleared competitive exams through the initiative. In the current batch, Hisar and Jind districts performed exceptionally well, with 42 students each qualifying for the programme. The initiative has successfully bridged the gap between talent and opportunity, offering high-quality coaching and resources free of cost.

Why is the programme important?

Deepak Verma, District Science Specialist, Karnal, says the Super-100 initiative goes beyond academics—it is a powerful step toward equality and opportunity in education. It plays a crucial role in bridging the socio-economic divide, ensuring that talented students are not left behind due to financial constraints. By providing free, high-quality coaching and support, the programme empowers students from government schools to aspire, prepare and succeed in competitive fields such as engineering and medicine.
