Patients covered under the Ayushman scheme will continue to suffer as the Haryana branch of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) has decided to extend the suspension of Ayushman services at the private hospitals across the state for another week.

The Ayushman services were withdrawn by the Ayushman-empanelled private hospitals of the state from August 7 to 15 as the state government had not released their payments pertaining to the Ayushman scheme for four months.

“It has been decided to extend the suspension of Ayushman services for another week as the pending payments have still not been cleared,” said Dr Aarti Sahu, president of the Rohtak chapter of the IMA.

A number of patients covered under the scheme are being denied treatment/admission at private hospitals for a week due to the suspension of services by the Ayushman-empanelled hospitals.
