Speaking as the chief guest at a programme held under the Atmanirbhar Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan at Nehru Private ITI, Alikan, in Dabwali, Gautam said supporting products made by Indian farmers and labourers was not only an economic decision but a patriotic one. A developed India could only be achieved if we prioritised goods that carried the sweat of our workers and the essence of Indian soil, he said, calling ‘swadeshi’ the backbone of an ‘atmanirbhar’ (self-reliant) Bharat.
Gautam talked about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of making India self-reliant and developed by 2047 — the centenary of Independence.
He cited flagship initiatives such as Make in India, Startup India, and Vocal for Local as strong steps in the direction. Gautam exhorted the youth to shun the use of drugs, and engage in sports.
He highlighted ongoing efforts to build more stadiums and gyms across the state. During the programme, the minister heard public grievances and assured timely resolution.
Speaking to the media, he said the Atmanirbhar Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan aimed to empower every citizen socially, economically, and technologically, especially those in rural areas.
“If we return to ‘swadeshi’,” Gautam said, “India will surely emerge as one of the most powerful nations in the world.”
