The election, held on Wednesday at Government Senior Secondary School, Sarasod, recorded an impressive 94 per cent turnout, with 414 of 440 registered child voters casting their ballots. Nine girls contested for the Sarpanch post, while 17 girl child panch members were also elected. Counting was conducted transparently under the supervision of village election officer Ritika.

After her victory, Tamanna said she would promote the Selfie With Daughter campaign in every household and prioritise children’s health, education and sports. Sunil Jaglan, founder of the foundation, described the event as a “historic first step” towards establishing 75 Girl Child Panchayats across India.

The election was closely observed by Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Sushil Lahani, who praised the process and recommended replicating the Bibi Pur Model in other states. Differently-abled children also participated actively, adding to the significance of the initiative.
