Taxation advocate Sanjay Madaan, among five, appointed State Information Commissioner

Renowned taxation advocate Sanjay Madaan has been appointed as a State Information Commissioner in the Haryana State Information Commission. He is one of the five commissioners appointed by the state government three days back. Madaan took oath of office on Monday at Raj Bhawan, Chandigarh.

Madaan, who has served as the district president of the Karnal Taxation Bar Association, currently holds the position of Vice Chairman of the Haryana State Tax Bar Association. He had earlier served as district BJP secretary, BJP legal cell president, BJP district spokesperson and is currently working as member of Economic Cell Haryana BJP.

Besides, he is associated with several social organisations, including JCI, Bharat Vikar Parishad, Madhav Netra Bank and others.

His elevation was celebrated at the BJP office 'Karn Kamal', where district president Praveen Lathar felicitated him.

On Sunday, Madaan met Union Power Minister Manohar Lal Khattar during his visit to Karnal, expressing gratitude for his appointment. “I thank Union Minister and Karnal MP Manohar Lal, Chief Minister Nayab Saini, state BJP President Mohan Lal Badoli and the Central and state leadership for entrusting me with this responsibility,” said Madaan.

Along with him, the state government has appointed four other commissioners — Amarjeet Singh (Retd. HCS), Karmbir Saini, Neeta Khera and Priyanka Dhopra. The government has also approved TVSN Prasad, retired IAS officer and former Chief Secretary of Haryana, as the Chief Information Commissioner.
