Teachers get tips to make maths interesting at digital workshop

A digital workshop on mathematics was organised for government school teachers in all five blocks of Rohtak district from May 20 to 22. As many as 290 teachers and lecturers of mathematics attended the workshop conducted under the guidance of District Education Officer Manjit Malik.

“The underlying idea behind conducting the workshop was to make the teaching of mathematics interesting with the help of online software and digital aids,” said district mathematics expert Deepak Arora.

Arora, as well as mathematics teacher Anil Kaushik from Government Model School, Sanghi, were the master trainers at the workshop. They told the teachers about the digital software and the virtual mathematics lab.

The virtual mathematics lab, prepared by Kaushik to make the study material available for the teachers as well as the students, was appreciated by the participants. Arora assured the participating teachers and lecturers that all issues related to teaching mathematics would be resolved at the district level. Ganit Gyan Clubs, Harbans Puzzle Corners and Mathematics Labs were set up in every school and the teachers were exhorted to enhance the mathematics-related activities of students.
