Prof Prakash Singh, Vice Chancellor (VC), Deenbandhu Chhotu Ram University of Science and Technology (DCRUST), Murthal, launched e- Samarth at the VC secretariat here on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion the VC said, “The university is moving ahead on the path of development. DCRUST has become first regional university of the state to implement e-Samarth. By implementing e-Samarth, the attendance of students will now be online. This initiative was launched by the Ministry of Education in 2019 under the National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology NMEICT-II (now NMEICT-III) aimed at enabling universities and higher education institutions (HEIs) through a digital framework to plan, manage, deliver and monitor services for students, staff and other stakeholders.”

The VC said, “It is cloud-based software and has very little chance of error in it. Its implementation will bring transparency. Currently, it has been implemented for students’ attendance. Students will know about their attendance on their mobile phones. They have to enter their mobile phone number and e-mail ID in the software so that their personal details remain safe and errors are reduced.”

Apart from this, time table of teachers will also be available online. Any employee can apply for leave online.”

He said, “e-Samarth is an e-governance platform that seamlessly integrates technology and education delivery. It is a digital framework for planning, management, delivery and monitoring of services for students, employees and others. At least 40 plus modules on this platform are capable of completing all tasks of universities.”

The team that launched e-Samarth for university includes programmer Amit Dahiya and Prashant Tyagi and Dr Vineet Sharma.
