With the aim to develop interest among students towards innovation, research and technological development, National Technology Day was marked at the University Institute of Engineering and Technology of Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak, on Friday.

Innovative projects and models such as the PEEK 3-D printer, a multipurpose drone, radar system, solar-powered hybrid tricycle, PET-bottle filament machine and a smart helmet were displayed at the exhibition.

Dean (Academic Affairs) AS Maan inaugurated the event. Addressing the participants, he said the country was making rapid strides in the field of innovation and technological development. He underlined the impact of technology in daily life and called upon the youth to contribute to nation-building through science and technology. Dean (Student Welfare) Randeep Rana, Dean (CDC) Vinita Hooda and Dean (R&D) Harish Dureja were the special guests at the event. UIET Director Yudhveer Singh delivered the welcome address, and delved into the importance of National Technology Day.

Declamation and a poster-making competitions were also organised to commemorate the day. The project exhibition was coordinated by Dr Deepak Chhabra, declamation contest by Dr Vipin and poster-making competition by Dr Manju Bala. The programme was conducted by Dr Kavita and Dr Yogesh Kumar.
