A Class XI student has allegedly been raped by a former classmate. The police have arrested the accused and produced him in a local court, which sent him in judicial custody.

According to the complaint filed by the mother of the 16-year-old victim, her daughter and the accused were classmates in a private school two years ago. She reported that they had changed school, but were friends and chatted frequently on social media.

“My daughter was staying at home due to the lockdown. The accused took her out for a drive on Monday and raped her. She returned home in the evening and confided in me,” she told the police.
