An Agriculture Development Officer (ADO), a patwari, and a trainee patwari had gone to the fields where crop residue was being set on fire. According to officials, while ADO Rajbir was persuading farmers not to burn stubble, the patwari sought field details from a farmer. This reportedly enraged the farmers and some locals, who allegedly attacked the team with sticks.

ADO Rajbir and trainee patwari Rahul sustained injuries on their arms and were rushed to the Civil Hospital for treatment. The officials informed the police control room through Dial-112, after which a police team reached the spot.

The incident sparked resentment among revenue staff. Later, a delegation of patwaris met the SDM and apprised him of the assault on government officials. The SDM assured the delegation that strict action would be taken against those found guilty.
