The collected material will be deposited at three locations, including Sector 8, Neki Ki Diwar, and a shop of Kurukshetra Development Board. The collected material will be reused and recycled to prepare new products.

DMC Pankaj Setia said the waste material will also become a means of livelihood for the women of self-help groups. The members of the self-help groups will prepare cloth bags by sorting out old clothes collected by the vans and these bags will help the livelihood of the self-help groups.

As per the DMC, two waste to wonder parks will be developed near Congress Bhawan in Sector 13 and in Sector 8. To reduce the usage of single-use plastic bags, the Municipal Council will provide cloth bags in Sector 8, at Neki ki Diwar and shop number 50 of the Kurukshetra Development Board. By depositing a security amount of Rs 25, the residents will be able to get a bag and after it gets old, the residents will be able to exchange it.

“According to the rules of Swachh Survekshan, more than 400 marks are given for public participation, so the teams of the Municipal Council will directly contact thousands of students of 64 schools of Thanesar and these students will also be asked to fill the form for the city's cleanliness campaign and separate management of wet and dry waste. The teams will also cover around 47,000 houses of Thanesar city, along with the message of reduce, reuse and recycle, and motivate them to manage the wet and dry waste separately”, the DMC said.

He further said ward committees were being formed in 32 wards of the city. These ward committees will hold meetings with the residents in their respective wards and make them aware about making the city clean and beautiful. Along with this, the committee will try to make its ward clean with the cooperation of the people. The ward committees will have direct communication with the officials of the Municipal Council and they will be able to get development and cleanliness-related works.

Pankaj Setia said All efforts are being made to make Thanesar in the list of the cleanest cities in Swachh Survekshan, but the cooperation of the residents was a must because without their participation, the target  could not be achieved.
