Some miscreants decamped with an ATM of Canara Bank in Shambhli village of the district on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday. The ATM had around Rs2.77 lakh, the police have said.

Unidentified persons fled with the ATM and also damaged CCTV cameras installed in the ATM kiosk, the police have said.

Ramesh Chand, in-charge, police post in Sitmai, said the incident came to light at around 2.30 am on Thursday when people informed the police control room. “Miscreants used a cutter to open the shutter of the ATM kiosk. A case has been registered against unidentified persons,” he said.
