Thieves targeted two parked cars in the DLF phase 1 area and decamped with laptops and other valuables after breaking their windowpanes on Wednesday evening.

In the first incident, complainant Dr Yasir Shah Khan of Jamia Nagar, Okhla, told the police that he came to Looks Salon near DT Mega mall for a haircut in his car in the evening. He said he parked his car outside the mall.

“After coming back around 8.20 pm, I saw the rear windowpane on the right side of my car was smashed. My laptop bag, which contained MacBook, iPad, Samsung smart watch, stethoscope, wallet, Rs 3,000 and ID card, was stolen from the car. The total value of the items is around Rs 3.25 lakh,” he added.

In the other incident, complainant Kartik Kapoor, a resident of Navyug apartments, Sector 43, told the police that he parked his car outside the DT Mega mall yesterday and went for shopping.

“I came back around 8:20pm and saw that the rear windowpane on the right side of my car was broken. My laptop bag, which contained an HP laptop, a wallet and id card, was stolen,” Kartik said.

Two separate cases were registered last night.
