The theft came to the fore on Sunday morning when shop owners reached there. They immediately informed the police which rushed to the spot and called in the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team to collect evidence. Fingerprints were lifted from the shop, and sniffer dogs were also brought in to assist in the investigation. However, dogs were unable to track thieves.

Yomesh Kumar, investigation officer (IO), who was present at the spot, stated that an investigation was launched as soon as the police received information about the theft. “Thieves have cut the CCTV wires and taken the DVR with them. However, efforts are underway to review CCTV footage from nearby areas. We are hopeful that the culprits will be identified soon,” he said.
