Third suspect arrested in Sirsa university student assault case

Inspector Pradeep Kumar, Station Manager of Civil Lines police station, said on September 29, 2025, students Mohammad Faiz, Mohammad Kaif, and their friends were attending a talent hunt programme at Chaudhary Devi Lal University (CDLU) when an argument broke out over clapping and whistling.
According to the complaint, a group of students made religious remarks, used abusive language and physically attacked them. Mohammad Kaif was allegedly hit on the head with a metal bracelet (kada), and others were beaten with fists and kicks, resulting in injuries.
A case was registered at the Civil Lines Police Station based on the statement of Mohammad Faiz, son of Iqbal, a resident of Kolgaon in Mewat district.
Earlier, on October 8, 2025, the police had already arrested two suspects, Sunil Kumar and Prince, who were sent to jail. A metal bracelet used in the assault was recovered from them during interrogation.
On 13 October, the third accused, Boota Singh, was arrested. During questioning, he confessed to the crime. He will be produced before the court on Tuesday and sent to judicial custody.
