Thousands take part in BJP's Tiranga Yatra
A Tiranga Yatra was organised in Panipat and Sonepat city on Thursday to honour the Army’s 'Operation Sindoor'.
In Panipat, the yatra began after paying a tribute at the memorial in the Mini Secretariat. The march was led by Development and Panchayat Minister Krishan Lal Panwar, Education Minister Mahipal Dhanda, Panipat City MLA Pramod Vij and MLA Manmohan Bhadana, among others.
Panwar said under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, the Army executed the operation with exceptional courage. The march saluted the valour of the Army, he said.
Dhanda said the yatra was not a military campaign but a symbol of patriotism and national dignity led by various social organisations.
Religious organisations and students of various schools and colleges participated in the march.
In Sonepat, the yatra was organised under the leadership of BJP state incharge Dr Satish Poonia and BJP state president Mohan Lal Badoli. Hundreds of people enthusiastically participated in the march.
Minister Arvind Sharma, MLAs Nikhil Madaan, Krishna Gahlawat, Pawan Kharkhoda and Devender Kadyan, Mayor Rajiv Jain and other party leaders participated.
Poonia saluted the Army and said the morale of terrorists had been crushed.
Badoli said ‘Operation Sindoor’ symbolised the nation’s security and pride.
Thousands of people carrying the National Flag paid tributes to the martyrs.
Cong plans nationwide march
Rohtak: BJP national secretary Om Prakash Dhankhar and Rajya Sabha MP Ram Chander Jangra led the yatra here.
Dhankhar said the yatra, which was being held to express gratitude to the country's soldiers, also indicated the emergence of a new India that was ready to face every challenge.
Families of ex-servicemen, social organisations, Mayor Ramavtar Valmiki, BJP leader Manish Kumar Grover, district president Ranbir Dhaka, Jhajjar district president Vikas Valmiki and state media co-incharge Shamsher Kharak also participated in the yatra.
The participants raised slogans like “Jai Hind” and “Bharat Mata ki Jai”, and paid floral tributes to martyrs.
Jangra said the operation symbolised the valour of the armed forces and the country's strong policy and leadership.
Meanwhile, the Congress said in a communique that it would hold 'Jai Hind Sabhas' across the country from May 20 to salute the valour of the armed forces. "We also must raise serious questions on security lapses, the government’s handling of national security, and its silence on the involvement of the US in our national security matters," it stated.
