“I came in contact with the agents through a friend. Instead of sending me to Italy, they sent me to Dubai. I was told by the agents that it was a one week stay in Dubai and then they will send me to Italy after getting the documents for Italy ready. But later they sent me to Oman where I was kept captive and they asked for money. I paid them Rs 5.50 lakh in different instalments. I had to spend Rs 1 lakh to come back to India”, the complainant alleged.

He further said the agents stopped receiving his calls and when he went to meet them, he was threatened of dire consequences.

“My family had arranged for the funds to send me abroad after borrowing money on interest. They have duped me and I have lost Rs 6.50 lakh”, Rashid claimed and requested the police officials to help him in recovering his money.
