The incident came to the fore today when their parents approached the police and lodged a missing complaint. The police launched a search operation after finding their mobile location near Badli town. A car was found abandoned near the canal and the clothes of the trio were also lying inside it.

The police immediately pressed the divers into service who later fished out the bodies from the canal.

Sources said the trio had gone to Naurangpur village to inspect a construction site. On returning, they drowned in the canal while bathing.
