Kurukshetra police spokesman said on January 30, a missing complaint was registered at the KUK police station. In his complaint, Praveen Kumar, a resident of Barwa village, had stated that his brother Krishan had given Rs 43,000 to Ankush and Krishan had gone to meet Ankush to get his money back but didn’t return. His mobile phone was also switched off. The family members had raised suspicion that Krishan was murdered and the investigation was handed over to the CIA-2 unit.

His body was recovered on February 5 from a canal in Karnal and the suspects were arrested on February 6. The body was handed over to the family after the postmortem on Thursday.

CIA-2 in-charge Inspector Mohan Lal said Krishan was a good friend of Ankush and his cousin Sandeep. During questioning, the suspects have disclosed that Krishan used to talk to a girl from Sandeep’s family and he had some recordings on his phone. There was another dispute related to a two-wheeler and an amount of Rs 43,000. Krishan was using Sandeep’s two-wheeler. On January 29, the suspects (Ankush, Gaurav and Sandeep) while returning from Vaishno Devi, decided to meet Krishan to get the recordings deleted and also take the two-wheeler back.
