Three held on theft charge
The Gurugram police arrested three persons, including a student, for stealing 2-kg gold-plated ornaments from a jewelry shop in Farrukhnagar here. The police also recovered the stolen items from their possession. The suspects have been identified as Riyaz Badri Alam, Sohail and Akshay Murugan, residents of Palghar in Maharashtra. The suspects stole jewellery mistaking it for gold. When the trio went to a shop to sell the stolen items, they came to know that it was gold-plated jewellery. According to the police, the theft took place at a shop in Farrukhnagar on October 26. During interrogation, they confessed to have committed the theft.
