Three of family killed in road accident, 2 hurt

Three members of a family were killed, while two others sustained injuries when the van they were travelling in collided head-on with a SUV on the Palwal-Sohna Highway on Monday night.

The SUV driver fled the spot after the mishap. The police have registered a case in this regard.

According to police sources, the incident took place when the SUV rammed into the van coming from the opposite direction near Hanuman temple around 11 pm on Monday. The impact of the collision left both vehicles severely damaged.

The SUV driver reportedly escaped unhurt. Meanwhile, three van occupants succumbed to their injuries on way to the hospital, while two others are undergoing treatment at the hospital.

The deceased have been identified as Dibban, his son Kunwar Singh and Lata, wife of Kunwar. The injured persons include Prince and Vivek, Kunwar’s son and nephew, respectively. They are undergoing treatment at the hospital.

While the van occupants were on their way to Sohna from Jurhera village, the SUV was going towards Palwal from Sohna.

Radhey Shyam, a police official, said a case had been registered and a manhunt had been launched to nab the absconding driver.
