Kurukshetra University Vice-Chancellor Prof Som Nath Sachdeva today said Tiranga Yatra is a powerful medium to inspire patriotism among young generation. Addressing students and teachers before flagging off a Tiranga Yatra organised by Dean Students’ Welfare, Kurukshetra University, Prof Sachdeva described the yatra as “a symbol of devotion, pride and unity towards the nation”.

The VC administered an oath to teachers, students and staff to work towards prevention of drug abuse, abstain from harmful substances and lead a healthy lifestyle. He encouraged all students and faculty members to hoist the National Flag at their homes as part of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.

Deputy Director, Public Relations, Jimmy Sharma said in addition to Tiranga March and oath-taking ceremony, a cleanliness drive was organised in Rose Garden behind the university library. Flags were distributed to students and faculty members.

The rally, marked by spirited chants of Bharat Mata ki Jai and Vande Mataram, passed through various university departments and institutes, drawing enthusiastic participation from faculty, officials, students, NCC cadets and volunteers.

Senior university officials, deans, directors, chairpersons, faculty members, staff and students were present on the occasion.
