After being hit, Sanjay fell on the bonnet of the car, but the driver did not stop.

As the car sped off, Sanjay fell to the ground. Shortly after, the car overturned in a nearby field.

Sanjay, in a critical condition, was rushed to a private hospital in Rohtak where he succumbed to his injuries.

Sources said the car involved had a Gurugram registration number. The driver, who was drunk, managed to escape from the spot. The entire sequence was captured by the toll plaza’s CCTV cameras, although the footage has not been released to the public.

The police have registered a case. “The car has been recovered from the spot. “The driver will soon be identified and arrested based on the vehicle’s registration number,” said a police official.
