The team, led by District Town Planner (DTP) Rajesh Kumar, demolished kutcha roads laid in these unauthorised colonies on Wednesday. The total area covered by these colonies was around five acres.
“Under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Parth Gupta, I, along with my staff, the Naib-Tehsildar of Saraswati Nagar, who was appointed as duty magistrate to maintain law and order, personnel from the State Enforcement Bureau, and the police, carried out the demolition drive,” said DTP Rajesh Kumar.
He added that notices had been issued to the defaulters under the Controlled Areas Act of 1963, but they failed to comply with departmental orders.
“The landowners did not obtain the necessary permissions before carving out these colonies. So action was taken against these illegal developments,” Kumar said.
