To fast-track work on the development of an international horticulture market at Ganaur in Sonepat, the state government has constituted a steering committee under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, which approved the request for proposal (RFP) for the selection of a transaction adviser (TA) for the market.
It was decided that an agreement would be signed with the TA by May 5. The TA will be required to finalise a draft RFP for approval of engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor by August.
Meanwhile, while presiding over another meeting, the Chief Minister approved a concept plan for the establishment of an ultra modern apple, fruit and vegetable market to be established by the HSAMB on 78.33 acre at Pinjore.
An estimated cost of Rs 80 crore will be incurred on infrastructure development of the market. It was informed that a detailed project report (DPR) of the project would be prepared within 30 days and tenders would be invited within 60 days.
It was informed that this market would primarily cater to apple growers of Himachal and vegetable growers’ within a radius of 150 km of the market.
