Amid the paddy procurement and assigning of paddy to the rice millers, a huge quantity of rice was found from a godown in Nissing by a team of the Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department on Sunday. The actual quantity was being ascertained by the team members till the filing of the news.

The team members did not confirm whether the stock is legal or illegal, but said they are verifying the papers. They did not deny the possibility of mixing this rice with the custom-milled rice (CMR) which is given by the rice miller to the government against the paddy given to him.
