Kargil Vijay Diwas — which marks India’s victory over Pakistan in the 1999 Kargil War — was observed on Saturday in Hisar, as ex-servicemen and administrative officers paid tributes to the brave soldiers who laid down their lives for the nation.

The district administration and several ex-servicemen gathered at the Martyrs’ Memorial near the Mini-Secretariat here to pay tributes to the soldiers who had made the supreme sacrifice in the war.

After offering tributes at the memorial, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Jyoti Mittal said the war was an extremely challenging battle, in which the Army had displayed unparalleled courage.
