A team of CIA-2 of the Yamunanagar district police nabbed two motorcycle-borne miscreants after an encounter near Asgarpur village on late Friday evening.

The accused have been identified as Vikas (28) of Saranwa village and Deepak (30) of Kanipala village of the district. They sustained bullet injuries in their leg and have been admitted to the Trauma Centre, Yamunanagar.

Two countrymade pistols were reportedly seized from their possession. A team of the CIA-2 received information that two miscreants with weapons were roaming around and might carry out some crime in Kala Amb area.

When the police reached the spot, the accused allegedly opened fire at the police team. The accused sustained injuries in retaliatory fire.

SP Kamaldeep Goyal told mediapersons that the accused were on their way to Kala Amb. He said both the accused had criminal history. “The police have seized weapons from their possession,” he added.
