Dabwali police on Monday arrested two wanted gangsters involved in multiple firing incidents, including attacks targeting Haryanvi singer Fazilpuria, marking a major breakthrough under Operation Trackdown.

A CIA Kalanwali team nabbed Gokul alias Golu and Anil alias Goru, each carrying a reward of Rs 20,000. Police recovered two illegal .32-bore pistols and four live cartridges from their possession.

According to the police, the duo had been planning a major crime and were previously linked to firing cases in Gurugram and Karnal, including the attack on Fazilpuria. Investigators believe both are associated with gangster Deepak Nandal, currently abroad.

The arrests followed a tip-off received by CIA Kalanwali incharge Sub-Inspector Suresh Kumar, who was informed that the two — long active in organised crime — were heading towards Punjab to commit another offence. When the suspects attempted to flee on a motorcycle without a number plate near the Kali Mata Temple in Taruana, the police team chased and apprehended them.

A case has been registered at Kalanwali police station under Section 111(4)B of the BNS and the Arms Act.

Dabwali SP Nikita Khattar said both men were wanted by the Haryana STF. Anil faces five cases involving robbery, illegal arms, firing and organised crime across Sirsa, Gurugram and Karnal, while Gokul is named in seven cases, including shootings at the MNR Builders office, the Saga Music office in Karnal, and the attack on Fazilpuria — allegedly carried out on the directions of gangster Deepak Nandal.
