Two get life term for killing auto driver in Gurugram

The court of Additional Sessions Judge Tarun Singal has sentenced two convicts to life imprisonment (rigorous imprisonment) and imposed a fine on them for killing an autorickshaw driver in 2021.

According to the police, the police received information about the crime in Sector 56 on September 27 in 2021. A police team, along with the crime scene team and fingerprint expert, reached the spot and took the body in custody. The deceased was identified as Asif, a resident of Budaun district in Uttar Pradesh. An eyewitness filed a complaint with the police, stating that a man and woman had assaulted and eventually killed the auto driver. An FIR was registered at the Sector 56 police station.

While investigating, the police arrested Yakub (28), a resident of Anthra village, and Sonia (28), a resident of Bagairan village in Badaun district of Uttar Pradesh. After the duo was arrested, the case was investigated thoroughly. The police had collected all necessary evidence and witnesses against them in the case and presented them in the court. “Additional Sessions Judge Tarun Singal on Wednesday found them guilty and sentenced them to life imprisonment,” said the police spokesperson.
